The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has agreed to resolve nationwide claims brought on behalf of home sellers concerning the MLS Cooperative Compensation Model rule. The settlement agreement requires covered MLSs to adopt and enforce a new set of rules. Consequently, Stellar MLS must update our policies and systems to align with these updates, including the complete removal of any/all references to compensation from the MLS system, the requirement to use a buyer brokerage agreement before showing a property, the optional addition of a field to note seller concessions to the buyer, and strict enforcement of misuse of MLS content to enable a separate platform for sharing compensation.
